How to Add an Email Signature on iPhone

Replace "Sent from my iPhone" with a professional signature — including your logo, photo, and social links. Works on iPhone and iPad, no extra apps needed.

1

Create your signature on your iPhone

Open our free generator in Safari right on your iPhone. Pick a template, fill in your name, title, and contact details, then tap "Copy Signature". The signature is now on your clipboard with all formatting and images preserved.

2

Open iPhone Settings → Mail → Signature

Open the Settings app, scroll down to Mail, then tap Signature. You can choose "All Accounts" for one signature everywhere, or "Per Account" to set a different signature for each mailbox.

3

Paste your signature

Tap inside the signature text box, then tap and hold until "Paste" appears. Tap Paste. The text may look plain in this preview — that's normal. iOS hides the HTML formatting here, but the full styled signature will appear in actual emails.

4

Restore formatting if needed

If the signature pasted as plain text, shake your iPhone to bring up "Undo Change Attributes" and tap Undo. This keeps fonts, colors, and your photo intact in outgoing mail.

5

Send a test email

Open the Mail app and compose a new email to yourself. Your professional signature with logo and links should appear at the bottom; check the received copy too, because email clients can handle images and spacing differently.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why does my signature look like plain text in Settings? +

iOS deliberately hides HTML formatting in the Signature preview field, but the styling is preserved. Send a test email to yourself — the signature will appear with full formatting, images, and clickable links.

Can I add an image or logo on iPhone? +

Yes. Our generator uses embedded image data when possible, so Apple Mail can often keep the image during copy-paste without separate hosting. Still, iOS and recipient email clients can handle embedded images differently, so always send a test email. If the image disappears, use a trusted HTTPS-hosted logo or a simpler text signature.

How do I remove "Sent from my iPhone"? +

Go to Settings → Mail → Signature. Delete the default text, then paste your custom signature. This works on iOS 14 and later.

Does this work with the Gmail or Outlook app on iPhone? +

No — iOS Settings only controls the built-in Apple Mail app. For the Gmail app, open Gmail → Menu → Settings → your account → Signature settings. For Outlook, open Outlook → Settings → Signature. Both only support plain text on iOS, so consider switching to Apple Mail for HTML signatures.

Can I use different signatures for different email accounts? +

Yes. In Settings → Mail → Signature, tap "Per Account" and you can paste a unique signature for each mailbox connected to your iPhone.

Will my iPhone signature sync to my Mac? +

No, iOS and macOS signatures are stored separately. If you want the same signature everywhere, paste it into both — but on Mac, set it up in Mail → Settings → Signatures.

Why did my signature lose its formatting after I paste? +

iOS sometimes strips formatting when pasting. Immediately shake your iPhone and tap "Undo Change Attributes" to restore fonts and colors. If that doesn't work, repeat the paste — newer iOS versions preserve formatting more reliably.

Is it really free? +

Yes, 100% free. No account, no credit card, no watermarks. You own your signature forever.
