How to Add an Email Signature in Yahoo Mail
Set up your signature in Yahoo Mail on the web in under 2 minutes. We also cover the mobile app — Yahoo stores those signatures separately, so you'll need to set both.
Create your signature
Use our free generator to design a professional signature with your name, title, contact info, logo, and social links. Click "Copy Signature" — the signature is now on your clipboard as rich HTML.
Open Yahoo Mail signature settings
Go to mail.yahoo.com, click the Settings gear icon (top-right) → More Settings → Writing email. You'll find the Signature section there.
Toggle the signature on
Click the toggle next to your Yahoo email address to enable a signature. If you have multiple mail accounts connected to Yahoo, each one has its own toggle and editor — you can set a different signature per account.
Paste your signature
Click inside the signature text box and press Ctrl+V (or Cmd+V on Mac). Yahoo's editor accepts rich text but does not let you paste raw HTML code. Pasted formatting from our generator usually carries over, but exact rendering can vary by Yahoo Mail version — if something looks off, use the editor toolbar (bold, links, image) to clean it up.
Save and send a test email
Yahoo saves automatically when you leave the settings page. Compose a new message and send it to yourself to confirm the signature renders correctly. Recipients on Gmail, Outlook, or Apple Mail will see your signature as standard HTML.
Set the mobile app signature separately
Open the Yahoo Mail mobile app → Profile icon → Settings → Signatures. Yahoo explicitly stores mobile signatures separately from the web; they do not sync. The mobile editor is more limited, so consider a shorter signature there with just name and title.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Yahoo Mail support HTML signatures with images? +
Yes on the web — the signature editor supports rich text formatting (bold, italic, links, font color) and lets you insert images either by URL or via the editor's image button. However, Yahoo does not accept raw HTML code pasted into the editor; you paste the rendered signature, not the source code.
Why does my signature lose formatting when I paste from a generator? +
Yahoo's editor may strip some formatting depending on which version you're using (new Yahoo Mail vs. old). If formatting is lost, paste again, or use the editor toolbar to manually re-apply bold, links, and add your image via the image button using a hosted URL.
Does my signature sync to the Yahoo Mail mobile app? +
No. Yahoo's official help states: "Email signatures in the Yahoo Mail app are different than the ones you have saved on your desktop computer." Set the mobile signature separately under Profile → Settings → Signatures in the app.
Can I set a different signature for each email account? +
Yes. If you've connected multiple email addresses to your Yahoo Mail (e.g., a Gmail or Outlook account through Yahoo's mail-fetching feature), each one has its own toggle and signature editor under Writing email settings.
Can I add my company logo image? +
Yes, through the signature editor's image button. Yahoo typically expects the image to be hosted somewhere (an HTTPS URL is safest). Behavior with images embedded as base64 data URIs varies by version, so a hosted logo is the more reliable approach.
Does this work with Yahoo Mail Plus / Yahoo Mail Pro? +
Generally yes — the signature setup flow is the same for normal Yahoo Mail accounts and paid Yahoo Mail tiers. Paid plans mainly add account-level features such as fewer ads or priority support, but always check your current Yahoo settings page if a plan name or UI changes.
Will my signature display correctly when recipients are on Gmail or Outlook? +
Generally yes for standard HTML signatures, but every email client renders HTML slightly differently. After you save, send a test email to yourself at a Gmail or Outlook address to check appearance before relying on it for important emails.
Is this free? +
Yes, 100% free. No account, no credit card, no premium templates. Yahoo Mail is also free for basic accounts.
